The Wilderness trim stands out from the standard Forester with a couple of features that enhance its performance and capability. The exterior of the Forester Wilderness features matte black finish wheels with 17-inch alloy wheels and all-terrain tires.

The front comes with a matte black hood decal that reduces sun glare for a better road view. The redesigned roof rails have anodized copper finish accents, and the rails have been designed to support more weight than the standard Forester's roof rails. The front skid plate enhances protection while the redesigned rear and front bumpers allow you to clear obstacles without worrying about scraping the underside of your SUV on rough trails outside Grants Pass.


The interior features water-resistant seating surfaces with a honeycomb design and copper accent stitching, making them easy to clean and durable. The Forester Wilderness has various rugged accents that are unavailable in the standard Forester. It also features a 180-degree front-view monitor for spotting obstacles when off-roading.

Under the hood of the Subaru Forester Wilderness is a 2.5-liter four-cylinder BOXER® engine that produces 182 horsepower. The drivetrain comes with re-tuned gearing with revised ratios of up to 40-percent grade for enhanced low-speed climbing. The Wilderness has an improved maximum towing capacity of 3,000 pounds compared to the 1,500 pounds available on the standard Forester.
