Partners in Compassion: Saving Thousands Together Since 2009     

     At SoHumane, we know that vulnerable animals need more than shelter, they need champions. For over 15 years, Southern Oregon Subaru has been exactly that. Through the Subaru Love Promise, this partnership has transformed countless lives, creating ripples of compassion that reach every corner of our community.     
    

        In 2025 alone, SoHumane took in more than 250 stray animals, many arriving in critical need of medical care. Providing this level of treatment would be nearly impossible without the steadfast support of community-focused partners like Southern Oregon Subaru. Their commitment ensures that vulnerable animals receive the healing, safety, and compassion they need to thrive.     

        The heart of this partnership is the annual Share the Love adoption event. Over the years, this beloved event has placed nearly 300 animals into loving homes and raised an extraordinary $371,840 to support our life-saving work, including $28,433 in 2025 alone. Each dollar directly impacts our ability to rescue, rehabilitate, and rehome animals who might otherwise have nowhere to turn.       

        Southern Oregon Subaru actively champions our cause, using their marketing channels and community presence to shine a spotlight on the importance of adoption, spay/neuter services, and compassionate animal care. This visibility helps us connect with more families ready to make a difference. Year after year, they've also stood by us as Presenting Sponsor of A Toast for Tails. In 2025, this signature fundraiser brought in over $300,000. These funds directly support programs like the Saving Train, our lifeline for animals pulled from overcrowded shelters where time is running out.     

        Because of Southern Oregon Subaru and our compassionate community, more than 12,000 dogs and cats have been given a fresh start, and together, we're committed to saving even more lives in the years ahead.

      In April of 2026, we had the distinct pleasure of presenting to SOHumane a check in the amount of $28,433. This represents donations from Subaru of America, our customers, and SOSubaru for the 2025 Share the Love annual adoption event.

      ACCESS provides food, warmth, shelter, and other essential services to Jackson County's low-income children, families, seniors, veterans, and people with disabilities. As the Community Action Agency of Jackson County, Oregon, ACCESS has been helping residents break the cycle of poverty since 1976.

We inspire, engage, and educate about the ecological importance of native pollinator species and the diverse native plant communities essential for their survival - and ours. We are committed to the creation and restoration of pesticide-free pollinator corridors throughout Southern Oregon.  

      D.I.R.T. Project   

      D.I.R.T. stands for Direct Involvement Recreational Teaching.      

      To change our urban climate we must live in that climate and be the change we wish to see. These parks are an effort to make that change and get back to DIRT. Direct Involvement Recreation Teachings focus is to learn by doing and to grow.   

      The natural side effect of the activities DIRT is involved in tends to be twofold: strengthening our community through participation, and beautifying our surroundings. These acts are changing our climate. We are being the change we wish to see.  

      The Medford Food Project is a revolutionary new way to collect food. It's a donor drive, not a food drive.

      At Asante's Mary and Dick Heimann Cancer Center and Helen K. Spears Cancer Center, we are working to ensure that every person facing cancer has access to exceptional care, innovative treatments, and compassionate support close to home. Through the generosity of community partners like Southern Oregon Subaru, we are helping patients from across our region receive not only advanced cancer care, but also the encouragement and comfort that can make a difficult journey feel a little less overwhelming.

      Hearts With A Mission serves homeless and at-risk youth by providing shelter, educational support, mentoring, and transition planning with a faith-based approach.   

The Wild Rivers Film Festival celebrates the art of cinema by showcasing thought-provoking films and supporting diverse voices in filmmaking. We foster art, culture, and economic growth in the Wild Rivers region through screenings, workshops, and educational programs.

In addition to providing carefully roasted coffee to discerning coffee drinkers in Southern Oregon, Griffin Creek Coffee Roasters helps make our yearly SOHumane adoption event a success by donating bags of coffee to adopting parents.

      With passion, purpose, and integrity, Canine Angels Service Teams (CAST) raises and trains exceptional dogs for children with special needs, promoting the child's independence and providing a better quality of life through a canine connection.    

      Southern Oregon Climate Action Now is a grassroots, volunteer, non-profit organization of area residents who care about climate change and have joined forces to take bold action against it. Through volunteer projects, they focus on reducing the impacts of global warming across Southern Oregon.  

      The Crater Foundation awards a scholarship to every graduating senior from Crater High School who applies for one, and provides financial aid to students and families in need.

        Southern Oregon Brainstormers / Brain Injury Alliance of Oregon     

      

            

        Award-winning Dogs for Better Lives is a national 501(c)(3) nonprofit located in Central Point, Oregon. Formerly known as Dogs for the Deaf, they have been providing Assistance Dogs to people across the United States since 1977.      

         

      In the fall of 2014, we gave a check to Southern Oregon Goodwill for $3,020 to help the folks of Weed, California.   

      Thanks to our generous customers, employees, and management, there was additional money in the fund Goodwill Industries of Southern Oregon used for vouchers for the folks of Weed to use for items they needed following the devastating fire.   

      Quick Community Response in Siskiyou County   

      The residents of Weed, CA suffered a devastating fire which quickly spread through their small community on Monday, September 15, 2014, taking 150 structures. The Boles Fire destroyed mostly homes but also commercial structures including the local lumber mill, library, and a church. In an amazing show of unity and compassion, people from surrounding communities immediately organized to help the victims of the fire. Goodwill also played an important role.   

      With community donations, including the largest from Southern Oregon Subaru and our customers ($3,020), Goodwill was able provide long-term recovery assistance with over $7,000 in emergency store vouchers for those displaced by the fire. Goodwill partnered with a local nonprofit agency in Siskiyou County to identify those with greatest need and to distribute store credits for household items and clothing.
